Phil Derner carries over 13 years of experience working in aviation operations in DoD contract, Part 121 Supplemental, Part 121, Part 135 and Part 380 operations as controller and dispatcher, as well as leadership in management and interim director roles.
He founded NYCAviation.com, where he and his team educate and entertain through written news and editorial content.
Phil has over a decade of experience appearing in and consulting for the news media and television documentary production as an aviation analyst and for content development.
He has appeared with local and worldwide organizations such ad CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, New York Times, BBC, History Channel, National Geographic, Smithsonian Channel, Travel Channel, Al Jazeera, Travel Channel, local affiliates of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and more nationwide, and many more.
Phil has strong proficiency to speak to the topics of aviation safety, space, travel, aviation history, airline accidents, as well as the operations of airlines, airports, aircraft and beyond.
